At the end of 2022, Statistics Norway announced that it intended to cease producing industry indexes - a total of approximately 30 index assignments that add up to several hundred unique indexes that have been used for decades with a unique societal benefit. Roughly estimated, this involves tens of thousands of users and a total contract value of hundreds of billions of SEK per year. The users include companies, organisations, authorities, municipalities, regions and private individuals.
