The Laundry and Textile Service Index was created 20 years ago. As of January 1, 2026, SBIX Svenska Branschindex AB (SBIX) will take over responsibility for production. This change will pass unnoticed.
Even with a new supplier, the Swedish Textile Service Association continues to own the Laundry Index. It is published monthly on the 19th of each month or the weekday before if the 19th falls on a weekend. All indexes are available as usual at:
Solid expertise
It was when SCB – Statistics Sweden, announced that they would stop producing this type of index, that the issue moved forward. The Southern Swedish Chamber of Industry and Commerce took the initiative and formed the subsidiary SBIX Svenska Branschindex AB. Stefan Pettersson, who had worked with Tvättindex for a long time, became CEO of SBIX. He recruited additional expertise.
The new company's employees are therefore not unfamiliar with the Laundry Index. On the contrary! They have a long-standing background in producing ours and the other twenty or so industry indices at Statistics Sweden.

Smooth transition
The handover is taking place in close cooperation between SCB and SBIX to ensure a smooth transition and continued access to reliable and quality-reviewed indices. So in summary: On January 1st, the big news is that everything is exactly as it always has been. At least when it comes to the Laundry Index.
