Job, job, job

If there is the will, there is the potential

The laundry and textile service industry has great potential for new hires, not least to be able to offer so-called entry-level jobs.

As the industry expands, the economic value of society increases by increasing tax revenues and by the fact that more people come to work, receive wages and can increase their consumption. This positive development accelerates if the industry is given the right conditions:

The number of jobs can be doubled

The laundry and textile service industry is a broad and expansive industry with great future potential. It has a turnover of approximately SEK 5 billion in Sweden and has approximately 000 employees. We estimate that in addition there are 400 employees at subcontractors who work with orders from industry companies.

The industry has a great opportunity to offer employment to people who are otherwise far from the labor market, so-called entry jobs. Within the largest occupational group in the industry, about one third have a high school education and just over half the upper secondary education; about 46 percent are born abroad.

The market consists of two areas: rental / leased textiles and customer-owned textiles. The companies range from one-man companies to very large workplaces and are aimed at companies, municipalities and county councils as well as private consumers. With the right conditions, the market potential is an additional SEK 3,75 billion. This in turn can result in approximately 5 new employees in the industry and 300 new jobs in other industries.
